My Platform and Goals |

I am running for governor mainly to call attention to the problem of Unemployment. Everybody talks about it and shakes their head, but nobody seems to want to deal with it. I believe that if we made California more business friendly, fewer companies would leave and more companies would want to do business here and they would bring more jobs with them. I realize this sounds simplistic, but sometimes the best ideas are the simplest ones. I also realize that it will not be an easy solution. We need to give companies an incentive to do business in California and an incentive to create jobs here. Everyone talks about how bad the budget is in California. Working to eliminate the unemployment issue will help improve our budget situation. People with jobs pay state income tax. People with jobs also buy things thus increasing sales tax revenue. Also people with jobs donate to charities which helps them survive with the current diminished state funding. I know many people will probably say that of course everyone wants to give people jobs and then pat me on the head. I don't have specific solutions to these problems, but I believe that they exist and with a little work we can find them. I will do everything I can in the next two weeks to get that message out. If I raise enough money and collect enough signatures I will keep getting that message out until the day of the election.
Other Thoughts In addition to the unemployment issue I also feel strongly that we need to work hard to improve our education system. We need to give teachers more than empty words. The children they are teaching are the future of this state and it is up to the government to not let them down. We need to empower our teachers and give them realistic budgets so they don't have to spend their own money buying school supplies for their students. Because of the state's economic woes schools have less money then ever. At the same time because of public outcry the state has increased the standards students are expected to achieve. Budgets have been cut and programs have been eliminated and yet we blame teachers for not having prepared students well enough. I think it's time we stop blaming the other guy and work together to find a solution. As for party affiliation, I am a Republican and will answer any issue questions people send me.
